Cat Leashes

Leash training is, very simply, getting your kitty used to being on a leash. This should be done from the beginning, so you don’t have a fully grown cat pulling and tugging on the leash as a result of too much freedom. Leash training can also be helpful when you first bring home your kitty. When we get a new kitten, we use the leash indoors for the first several days, when she is not in her crate. If your kitty is kept in this close proximity to you or other family members, bonding can occur almost immediately.

She learns to stay close to you as you go about your daily life, making supervision much easier. And if there is an undesirable behavior, such as furniture scratching, you are always nearby to catch it right away and change the behavior. Of course, this is used in conjunction with crate training, making sure your kitty has plenty of play and rest time, and tapering off within a few days.

Of course, allowing Kitty to roam outside freely would be irresponsible in most cases. Unsupervised, your cat faces the very real dangers of road traffic, irate neighbors, disease, and other predatory animals. Leash training can add a new dimension to both of your lives. Cats look forward to their outings just as much as dogs enjoy their walks. If taken out at approximately the same time every day, Kitty will learn that this is the only time he can go out and there's no point in pestering the owner at other times.

Cat leash is a very important in your pet’s life as it gives your pet much needed time out of your home’s premises. It can be rewarding as well for cats as some owners tend to give their pets surprises in shape of treats if they oblige on a certain schedule and don’t bug their owners too much.

Leash training your cat takes time and patience. Most cats are civilized animals that come to grips with things rather easily. It can be easy if your cat is still a kitten because a grown up can is as difficult to train as any thing. Especially grown up Persian cats are very hard to train for a leash. As an owner your best bet is to train them as soon as you can and in as early age as possible.
